Womb Twin Art Exhibition Update

The exhibition currently on display in NYC (posted earlier on this blog) of 52 womb twin paintings by Monica Hudson, entitled Lost Twin Souls, has been up for 3 weeks now and the reactions have been favorable and interesting!

People who view the work are drawn in by the fun colors, and on further inspection, seem to pick up on the biological feelings and imagery in the paintings. I was astonished by how many people still have no knowledge of vanishing twin syndrome and was pleased to have the opportunity to raise awareness.

One high-level businessman spent thoughtful time contemplating them and then seemed visibly moved by the experience, after he commented how womb loss is a real thing and it even affected Elvis Presley (nice to hear someone else say it instead of the other way around for a change!). Yes, many people know Elvis had a twin but few realize just how impactful the loss of his beloeved Jesse was on his life and career. This man was getting it!

An identical twin (who has a living twin) viewed the paintings and was immediately sent into a womb world he could understand even though his twin didn't perish. He related quite strongly to the imagery, picking up stories in it in a twin-psychic manner..."this one was a fraternal" "this one was identical" "this one almost made it" he remarked. I had to wonder if he was a fraternal womb twin survivor, as well as a twin. We are still discussing this possibility, so far he has not rejected this theory saying he very well could have lost another. (he has other womb twin traits which is interesting considering he is a twin). He decided to buy 4 of the paintings, when lined up tell a story of vagueness/distinctness/distinctness/vagueness. This combination of paintings, he said, was like the twin started to be and then faded away...

What a thrilling experience to share the work and dialogue with so many people about it.

The show is up thru end of February, please contact me if you'd like to view it at moniglam@gmail.com

**10% of Art sold during this exhibition will be donated to the Womb Twin organization**

Don't miss this chance to help womb twins and add to your art collection at the same time.

Artfully and expressively yours,
Monica

  1. Well done, Monica! It's a wonderful way to use your creative talents to reach out to others with this story. Can we see some of the images?
